Is it safe to buy PC parts from Amazon?

I'm having a hard time finding a motherboard and fans for my build, and I've found plenty of options on Amazon. I've never ordered anything from there before, but I've selected some parts that are listed as being sold and shipped by Amazon. Is there a guarantee that these will be original and new products, especially since the prices are looking pretty good? Is there anything specific I should be cautious about? Or would it make more sense to spend about 30% more to buy from a local seller for extra peace of mind? What would you recommend?

If the parts are sold and shipped by Amazon or a trusted brand, you should be good. Just be aware that sometimes they may not check returned items thoroughly, so you could get something someone else sent back.

You can't really expect 100% reliability from any retailer. Amazon does have decent return policies, so that's something to keep in mind if anything goes awry.

Often you can get great deals from Amazon, but always look closely at the seller info. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Stick to Amazon directly for peace of mind.

I've had a bad experience once where I received a used DVD writer instead of the new Blu-ray one I ordered. Just a heads up that it can happen even if you think you’re buying new parts.

As long as it's sold and shipped by Amazon or a well-known manufacturer, you're generally safe. I've heard there's good support if anything goes wrong, just make sure to double-check who the seller is.
