Hey folks! I recently got some great advice on Linux distributions that are beginner-friendly and decided to upgrade my laptop's memory to 8 GB. I was recommended Linux Mint, but I wasn't a fan of its interface. Now, I'm curious if I can run Zorin OS Core with my new memory. I find Zorin's design appealing and user-friendly. My processor is an Intel® Celeron® 6305 @ 1.80 GHz. Thanks for any advice! Also, sorry for any mistakes in my English; it's not my first language.

Definitely try booting Zorin with a LIVE USB first! If you find it runs smoothly, then you can go ahead and install it. You might also want to consider alternatives like PopOS or Q4os which could fit your setup well.

You should be good to go with Zorin OS! Just ensure that you don’t overload your system with unnecessary background processes to keep it running smoothly.

Your CPU's performance is slightly below average, so I'd recommend looking into lighter Linux distributions or turning off unnecessary features. With your upgraded memory, you can try installing Zorin OS and see how it performs. Once it's up, you can use commands in the terminal to check your memory usage and overall load. Just keep an eye on your background processes to avoid running out of memory while multitasking.

I suggest giving Zorin OS a try with a LIVE USB. If you think it suits your needs after that, go ahead and install it. Your setup should handle it decently well.

For beginner-friendly distros, check out this list I found! Any Linux should work fine with 4 GB RAM, though your Celeron isn't the most powerful. If you didn't enjoy Mint, consider the Xfce version of Zorin or other lightweight desktops—especially since the standard version might be too heavy for your system.
