I'm considering switching from AMD to NVIDIA because I heard AMD is stopping support for the RX 5000 and RX 6000 series GPUs. Initially, I wanted to upgrade to an RX 9070 XT to replace my RX 6700 XT, but if AMD only supports their hardware for around five years, I'd rather look elsewhere. What would be a comparable alternative from NVIDIA to the RX 9070 XT?

I agree with the 5070 Ti suggestion! But just keep in mind that just because AMD is moving support doesn't mean NVIDIA won't do something similar down the line. It might be worth waiting to see what new GPUs come out soon too, especially if you don't need an upgrade right away.
Honestly, I went for the regular RTX 5070 and it's been a fantastic choice for all my games, even at 1440p and 4K. I’m really happy I didn't stretch my budget for the 5070 Ti. Whichever you choose, you're in for a solid upgrade!
It's definitely a good idea to think long-term. The RTX 5070 Ti is the direct competitor to the RX 9070 XT. If you’re on a tighter budget, the regular RTX 5070 could also work; it’s slightly slower but usually cheaper and still packs a decent amount of VRAM.
Your title is a bit misleading; AMD is actually moving their GPUs to a legacy support status rather than full discontinuation. So while there might be some updates in the future, it’s still less than ideal for us gamers who want long-term support.
