How do I update the BIOS on my older HP PC?

I'm trying to update the BIOS on my HP PC, which was built between 2007 and 2010. The current BIOS version is 6.05, and the manufacturer is Foxconn. It uses an Intel LGA 775 socket. The issue is that Foxconn has shut down their support website, so I'm unsure if I can still get the update I need. I'm considering a BIOS update because I want to switch to Linux Mint, but my PC won't accept changes in the BIOS settings. Any advice would be appreciated!

What’s the reason you’re looking to update the BIOS? Sometimes, if it's just to change settings, you might not need an update at all.

It's generally not a good idea to update the BIOS unless you have the manufacturer's official instructions and patches. Attempting an update with third-party software can be risky and might damage your hardware.
