I'm in a bit of a jam here! My dad is giving me his iPhone 13 Pro Max in exchange for my iPhone 12. I uploaded all my stuff to iCloud, restarted my iPhone 12, and logged into my dad's account. However, when I tried to set up the 13 Pro Max with my Apple ID, it was locked by a passcode I can't seem to figure out. I tried all my usual passcodes and even those of my family members, but nothing works. I accidentally removed the device from my account while trying to troubleshoot, which I thought would help. The clock is ticking because I need to get this sorted before heading back to college in a few days. I'm worried about locking myself out even more if I try guessing the passcode again. Any advice?

It sounds a bit complicated! You might need to reset both phones. If you have access to a computer, connect both phones to it and use Finder (on Mac) or iTunes (on Windows) to restore them. I tried connecting my iPhone to my Mac, but it wouldn't detect it at first. Eventually, I found a tutorial about entering recovery mode using the lightning cable.
