Which Linux Distro Should I Choose for Customization and KDE?

I'm currently using Windows 11, but I'm looking to switch to Linux and want your recommendations on which distro to install. I really enjoy customization and I have a preference for KDE environments. I was thinking about Kubuntu, but I've heard some concerns about Ubuntu's proprietary additions like 'snaps' that might not fit my open-source values. I'm a beginner and could use some guidance, so any advice would be appreciated!

I say just go for Kubuntu! Don't stress too much about the FOSS debates; it's way more open than Windows. Trust me, you'll enjoy it!

Just a heads-up: you might run into some driver and program compatibility issues, and sometimes things can get a bit corrupted after improper shutdowns. Make sure your setup is stable!

I just transitioned back to Linux after years on Windows, and I can vouch for Kubuntu being fantastic! I spent a few hours tweaking my KDE settings, and honestly, my workflow has improved a ton since I switched.

Have you considered CachyOS with KDE? Although I usually don't suggest it for newbies, you might find it works for you. It has some appealing features!

If you're really into tinkering and are somewhat experienced, you might want to try Arch. But if that's too much, Arch is also great for anyone!
