I'm having a frustrating issue with my laptop where it goes to the boot menu instead of booting into Windows after updates or when clearing the TPM. The only boot entry I see is Windows Boot Manager, and even when I select it, it returns to the boot menu. I've tried various troubleshooting methods without success. It seems like the boot flag isn't set correctly. I've noticed that if I manually shut down and enter the boot menu via F12, both the Windows Boot Manager and the NVMe drive show up. I suspect the NVMe drive isn't being initialized properly during reboots. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm working with a ThinkPad E14 Gen 3.

Have you checked if this is a personal machine or are you managing it as a sysadmin? Depending on the context, different solutions might be more appropriate.
Just to be safe, make sure to back up any important files before trying major fixes like flashing the BIOS or reinstalling the OS.
If you have access to a spare SSD, trying that could help narrow down if the issue is with the laptop or the current drive.
Honestly, it might save you more time just to wipe the drive and do a fresh install of the OS instead of messing around with troubleshooting. Sometimes it's just easier to start over.
Start by disconnecting all peripherals and double-check that your NVMe drive is set as the first option in the boot order. If you have CSM (Compatibility Support Module) enabled, try disabling it, and also turn off any fast boot options. If that doesn't work, try resetting the BIOS settings to default and updating the firmware. If you still encounter issues, using a Windows USB to repair the installation might be your best bet.
