Why Does My WiFi Work Fine on Non-Apple Devices but Not on Apple Products?

I've been having major WiFi issues with my Apple devices, specifically an Apple TV and iPhones. Our living room is the only place using the Apple TV, which struggles to load content while the other TVs in our house work perfectly despite being farther from the router. I also have trouble with the WiFi on my iPhone, often having to turn it off to use cellular data. Interestingly, my Surface Pro works flawlessly with WiFi when I work from home. What could be causing these issues specifically with Apple devices?

It sounds like you might need to provide more specific details. What's the make and model of your router, and how is your WiFi set up? Are you using 2.4GHz, 5GHz, or both? Also, what specific Apple devices do you have? If they connect fine on other networks, it might help to pinpoint the problem.

Good point! Without those details, it's tough to diagnose the issue. WiFi can be very sensitive to the environment.

I can provide the specifics: We have iPhone 14 Pros and an Apple TV (2nd Gen). Our router is the RT-AX82U set to 5GHz, usually delivering solid speeds.

You might want to tweak some settings on your router. Try turning off the auto-channel feature as a test. Sometimes Apple devices can be picky with specific channels.

Honestly, Apple's WiFi can be hit or miss, especially with smart features enabled. We found that disabling those features helped improve performance, and it might be worth it to switch on the 2.4GHz band as well.
