What Should I Upgrade on My Prebuilt PC?

I've had my PC since before Covid and haven't really done any upgrades or looked inside it aside from giving it a good dusting. Here are my specs: My GPU is still performing well, and I've just ordered more RAM, but I'm curious about what my next steps should be for upgrading. This is a prebuilt system, and I have no experience in this area. Any advice on what to focus on next would be greatly appreciated!

- Motherboard: Nitro N50-120
- GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- RAM: 16GB (2x8GB, upgrading to 2x16GB)
- Storage: 1.5 TB (500GB HDD, 1TB SSD)

I understand that a significant CPU upgrade would require a new motherboard as well. Thanks for any input!

Just a heads up, your prebuilt uses a proprietary motherboard, case, and power supply. If you want to upgrade the motherboard for a new CPU, you'll need to swap out both the case and the power supply as well.

Oh okay, I didn’t realize that. Just to clarify, PSU refers to the power supply, right?

If you're looking for a significant CPU upgrade, you'll indeed need to replace both the motherboard and RAM since they go hand in hand.

Yup! I mentioned that too; I just need some recommendations on specific parts!

Also, the model you mentioned is the prebuilt name, not the actual motherboard model. Make sure to check the exact specifications before buying anything, since they can be a bit tricky with prebuilt systems.

Looks like you’ll need to think about the whole upgrade path if you want to make significant changes. If you plan to upgrade both the CPU and motherboard, it’s also a good time to consider new cooling solutions and optimizing your case airflow.
