Hey everyone! I recently put together a new PC with these specs: 9800X3D, PNY GeForce RTX 5080 ARGB OC, Gigabyte X870E PRO ICE, and G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5-6000 RAM at 48GB with CL26. I tried two different setups. In Setup 1, I used the preconfigured EXPO Profile 1, which runs at 6000 MHz with a CAS latency of 26-36-36-96. In Setup 2, I didn't overclock anything at all.
I'm facing issues while gaming, particularly in Black Ops 6, where I experience spikes in CPU usage, causing the game to freeze for around 3 seconds, during which the CPU hits 100%. With Setup 1, I sometimes had to force restart my PC due to longer freezes, though I still get those short freezes occasionally. Setup 2 has fewer of those freezes, but they're still present. Interestingly, I didn't experience any freezing in Battlefield 6 while using Setup 2. I'm puzzled about what's going on.
I've also noticed a "High bandwidth mode" option in BIOS, but toggling it didn't seem to change anything. I couldn't find a QVL list for my motherboard specifying RAM compatibility, though it seems to be EXPO certified. I'm wondering if the RAM is too new for it to be listed.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I still have a few days to return the RAM and switch it out, although I'd prefer not to, especially with prices going up.

Have you tried disabling the EXPO profile? Sometimes it can cause instability depending on the combination of components. Also, it's worth noting that RAM doesn’t need to be on the QVL to work. It can still function fine. You might just be experiencing stutter issues related to the game itself or maybe some background apps using CPU.

I had similar issues with BO6! It might be worth checking if your graphics settings are maxed out and if there are any background processes using up CPU. Sometimes just lowering some settings can help smooth things out.
