I'm building my first PC and I've decided on the Radeon Rx 9070 XT for gaming. I mostly enjoy single-player RPGs like Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Last of Us, but I also play multiplayer games like Battlefield 6 and PUBG. I'm looking for advice on which CPU would pair well with this graphics card to ensure good performance. I don't need the absolute top-tier performance at 4K, just some solid recommendations from experienced builders. Any help would be appreciated!

Consider CPUs like the 7600X, 9600X, 7700X, or 9700X. The 7800X3D and 9800X3D are top of the line, but are they necessary? Not really. Check out some benchmarks for more insight!
What resolution are you playing at? I use a Ryzen 5 9600 with my 9070 XT at 4K and it's perfect for me. If you're below 4K, you can go for anything up to the 9800X3D for max framerates. I would have still chosen the 9600 for 1440p, though.
If you're gaming at 1440p and don’t really mind missing out on tiny performance boosts, even a 7500F is fantastic and will save you quite a bit compared to the 7800/9800X3D.
It all depends on your budget, but I’d recommend starting with at least a Ryzen 5 9600X for about $200. If you can stretch to $300-350, the 7800X3D would be a great choice. Anything above that price range, go for the 9800X3D.
The 9800X3D is currently the best CPU you can get, but if you want to save some cash, the 7800X3D is almost as good and can still deliver fantastic performance.
