Need Advice on My New PC Build after 8 Years

I'm gearing up to build a new gaming PC for the first time in eight years. My goal is to have a system that will last another eight years, with the potential for a graphics card upgrade down the road (though I'm not sure if that'll happen). Here's what my old setup looked like, including all the components I've bought recently:

**Previous Build:** Intel Core i7-8700, GTX 1080, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD.

**Potential New Build:** I'm eyeing an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, a 32 GB DDR5 RAM setup, and a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. My budget is around $2k, but I'm already above that with my estimated total around $2,174.92.

I'd really appreciate any thoughts on compatibility, any upcoming sales I should keep an eye out for, whether I should wait for new graphics cards, and what retailers might have the best deals. Additionally, I'd like to hear opinions on AIO (All-In-One) versus tower coolers and what has changed in the PC building scene since 2016. Thanks in advance!

That motherboard's price has definitely spiked recently! It used to be around $100 less a few weeks back. You might want to look into cheaper alternatives like the B850 Aorus Elite, which performs well without breaking the bank. Might save you some cash!

Yeah, I checked Newegg, and it’s out of stock at the lower price, so it could still fluctuate. Might be worth waiting to see if prices drop again.

For your build, I’d suggest sticking with the components you've chosen, especially the Ryzen 7 and the liquid cooler. Just a heads up, if you really want to shave off some costs, check out alternatives like the MSI MPG B850 Edge. It’s solid and priced well right now!

I’m curious, why go for the MPG B850 Edge instead of the Tomahawk? I’ve heard mixed reviews about certain brands.
