Hey everyone! I built my gaming rig back in 2020 and it's been running well. Here are the specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (not planning to upgrade)
- GPU: Currently have a 2060 Super, but I'm considering upgrading to either a 5070 or possibly a 9070 XT.
- Storage: 512 GB SSD (no change) and 1 TB HDD (no change)
- RAM: 32 GB (sticking with this)
- Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Pro
- PSU: Gigabyte B700H bronze.
I mainly play Overwatch 2 at 1440p 144hz and some older titles like Dying Light. I usually game for about one to two hours daily. Given that I'm looking to switch out my GPU, do you think I should also upgrade my power supply?

It sounds like your PSU should hold up fine. I have a 700W Gold-rated supply with a 5070 Ti, and my system runs without issues. Since your CPU has a lower power draw than mine, you're likely in a safe range.
You might want to think about upgrading your CPU before anything else. The Ryzen 5 3600 might bottleneck the performance of the 5070 or 9070 XT. A newer CPU could give you much better performance overall.
While wattage isn't an issue, the B700H doesn't have the best reputation. I’d suggest looking for a more reliable PSU if you can. You don't want to risk other components due to a potentially faulty power supply. A good 750W or 850W unit would provide some peace of mind.
I think you would be okay, but if it were me, I’d invest in a Gold-rated PSU just to ensure reliability and efficiency. It’s better to have a little extra power than to wish you had when you start upgrading other parts.
Honestly, I'd stick with the PSU for now. The 5000 series cards are good at undervolting, so your Gigabyte B700H should be sufficient. Just keep an eye on your system’s power draw once you upgrade the GPU.
