I'm having a really tough time trying to work between GIMP and Inkscape. GIMP can't seem to open Inkscape or .ai files with layers, and Inkscape doesn't support opening GIMP's .psd files either. It's incredibly frustrating! Is there any way to get these programs to play nice with each other? Are there any alternatives that allow for smoother transitions between raster and vector work? Or should I just consider switching to Adobe products?
