Hey everyone! I'm almost ready to transform a terminal server I have into a WSUS server, but I'm unsure if I need a different license for this change. I just want to install the WSUS features and wonder if that will be sufficient or if there's more I need to consider. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

You actually don't need a separate license to set up WSUS. Installing the role is pretty straightforward, but do keep in mind that WSUS can be a bit finicky. Make sure to check out some recent issues people have faced with it, as it might require some tweaks to run smoothly.
If you have the chance, consider using an alternative patch management solution instead of WSUS. Tools like Automox are very affordable and make management a lot easier.
People will tell you WSUS is on its way out, and while that's been the rumor for a while, it's still very much in use today. Just keep in mind that you'll eventually need to adapt, but for now, you should be fine!
There's really no additional licensing needed. Just go ahead and install the WSUS role, let it sync, and remember to decline any superseded updates. It's pretty direct, just make sure to approve updates on your terms.
