I just found a buyer for my iPhone 13 Pro Max (1TB) but I haven't purchased my new phone yet. I want to ensure all my data is secure while I prepare to sell my current phone. What's the safest way to wipe my iPhone without losing any of my data, so I can transfer everything to the new device later?

To keep your data safe, you can do a complete backup either to your computer or to iCloud. Here's a guide for backing it up: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iph3ecf67d29/ios. Just make sure to check how much iCloud storage you have because you might need to purchase more if you have a lot of data.

You should definitely make multiple backups of your important data. After that, reset your iPhone. You should be secure as far as your data goes! But, seriously, unless you're a spy with top-secret data, you should be fine.

iCloud Backup is super handy for this! It’s really one of the best parts of having an iPhone. Here's how to do it: https://support.apple.com/en-us/108366.

Just remember that if you backup your phone and then sell it, you’ll be locked out of your Apple account unless you have another trusted device for two-factor authentication. It's crucial! Check out this guide from Apple on selling iPhones too: https://support.apple.com/en-us/109511.
