I've been running into an issue with my UPS lately and would love your insights. I'm using an RX 6700 XT alongside a Ryzen 7 5700G and a 2K monitor powered by a 650W power supply. I bought a 1000VA/500W UPS, but after about 30 minutes of gaming, it starts beeping and then shuts off about 15 minutes later. Is this UPS faulty, or should I consider upgrading to a stronger unit? Thanks for any advice!

Make sure to consider your monitor's wattage as well. If it's drawing a lot of power, you may exceed the UPS's wattage capacity. A UPS rated for around 850W would probably cover your needs.
It sounds like you might need a higher capacity UPS. Try calculating the total wattage by adding the wattage of your monitor to the 650W you're already using. Based on that, you'd likely need an 850W UPS to keep everything running smoothly.
If the beeping means it's switching to battery and still only lasts 15 minutes, that’s actually decent runtime. However, if it just shuts off without switching over, it might indicate the batteries are failing. Some UPS units let you replace the batteries yourself.
A quick check with a wattage calculator shows you could be right at the limit of what your UPS can handle, especially depending on how much power your monitor pulls. You might need to upgrade.

Don't forget that the VA rating matters too! Some devices might not match up perfectly, so watch out for that when choosing a UPS.
