I'm considering an upgrade from a Ryzen 5 5600 to a Ryzen 7 5700x3D specifically for gaming purposes. I currently have an Nvidia 5070 12GB GPU. Is this upgrade worthwhile for the price of $250-$300? I primarily play competitive FPS games like Call of Duty, Battlefield 6, Valorant, CS:GO, and Fortnite, but I also want to explore popular single-player titles such as Elden Ring. I'm gaming at 1080p resolution. Thanks for your input!

Upgrading for that price can be a good idea, especially for titles like Elden Ring or any future AAA games. Just keep in mind that the improvement might not be as massive in FPS as you’d expect in some games, but overall, it should give you a nice boost.
It really depends on the games you play and your current setup. For competitive FPS games, the Ryzen 7 will give you better performance, especially if you're aiming for high frame rates. If you’re looking to future-proof your system a bit and enjoy smoother gameplay, then it’s a decent investment. Just make sure your cooling solution can handle the Ryzen 7!
Exactly! If you're competitive, every frame counts. Plus, the extra cores will help when you start playing more demanding single-player games.

True, if you play both competitive and single-player games, the Ryzen 7 could really shine in those tougher titles!
