I recently received a PC equipped with an Intel i7 10700T processor, and I'm considering building a budget-friendly setup mainly for my kid to play games like Minecraft, Terraria, and League of Legends. I understand that the 10700T is an APU with a base clock of around 2 GHz, but it can boost up to 4.5 GHz. My intention is to get it running for the time being since I plan to upgrade the CPU later. Currently, I'm thinking of pairing it with an RX 6600 graphics card, a compatible motherboard, and 16 GB of RAM. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the best specs for this setup!

Make sure you get a motherboard that's compatible with the 10th gen Intel CPUs; they use the LGA1200 socket, so double-check the CPU support list! The 10700T won’t work with most modern boards that use DDR5 RAM, and prices for RAM are pretty high right now. Since you're building a budget PC, focus on getting good DDR4 RAM, and this setup should serve you well for basic gaming needs!

Thanks for the tip! I had mixed up some details in my post; I'm aware that DDR5 isn't needed here. My goal is to keep this budget-friendly and power-efficient.

Just a heads up, the 10700T is known for being a power-efficient CPU, which means it has some limitations in performance compared to the regular 10700. It has a TDP of only 35W. Instead of the RX 6600, I’d recommend looking at the RX 6700 XT or 6750 XT if your budget allows. I usually go for more powerful components upfront to avoid upgrading too often. Also, for the motherboard, make sure it has enough RAM slots since you’re planning for 16 GB now; a board with 4 slots will be helpful for future upgrades.
