Help with LG Ultragear Monitor Issue during Gameplay

I need help with a problem I'm having with my LG Ultragear monitor while playing World of Warcraft. My setup includes an AMD 9800X3D processor, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and an RTX 5080 graphics card. Whenever I zone into the Wolf boss in Halls of Valor, my main monitor turns off, and the game switches to my second monitor. After a moment, the main monitor turns back on, and the game returns to it. I've recorded this happening, and it's consistently reproducible. I've tried updating all drivers and the monitor firmware, using just the second monitor (which didn't cause any issues), testing both DisplayPort and HDMI cables with the main monitor, and even reinstalling Windows from scratch. Interestingly, I used my laptop to face the same boss and didn't experience any monitor problems. I'm at a loss regarding this issue since it seems related to a specific interaction between my PC and the monitor.

Definitely sounds tricky! It's weird that it only happens with the main monitor while the second one works fine. As you mentioned, trying those driver updates and settings is a good start. You might also want to check the game's video settings to ensure it's matching your monitor's capabilities. If the problem persists, it could be worth reaching out to LG support or checking forums for others who've faced similar issues. Hang in there!

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll make sure to check the game settings as well.

I feel your pain! I also had to play around with the game settings quite a bit before I found the right fit. Hope it works out!

It sounds like you're hitting a potential compatibility issue, as WoW is getting older and might not pair well with the latest hardware. You could try turning off certain optimizations in Windows. Disabling hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, variable refresh rate, and G-Sync might help too. Additionally, lowering your monitor's refresh rate could make a difference. Don’t forget that capping your FPS might help as well since high frame rates can sometimes cause these kinds of problems. Let me know if any of that works!

I'll give those suggestions a shot. It's odd that one monitor has the issue while the other doesn't. Appreciate the tips!

I had a similar issue but unrelated to the game itself, and limiting my FPS really helped. Good luck!
