I'm looking for some good Linux distributions to install on my older Dell Latitude 7480. Here are the specs: it has an Intel i7-6600U CPU running at 3.4 GHz, Intel Skylake GPU, 16 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage. What do you think would work best?

With those specs, you can pretty much run any distro without issues. If you're curious about the system requirements, there's a great resource here to help you out: linuxbash.sh. You can also explore distrowatch.com to learn more about different options!

You should be able to handle a wide range of distros! But, I’d say it really depends on what you want to do with it and your comfort level with Linux. What do you plan to use the laptop for?

Mainly just playing some casual games like solitaire, doing some email, and maybe watching a movie or two. Nothing too heavy! I'm still learning the ropes with Linux as I go.

You might want to check out Ventoy so you can try out multiple Linux distros using one USB drive. I recently did this on an old Chromebook, and it was super simple!
