Is VPN Still a Reliable Option for Remote Work?

I'm curious about what solutions others are using for remote staff needing access back to the company network. We were previously using a SonicWall firewall with SSL VPN, implementing two-factor authentication with strong passwords. However, over the summer, there were concerns raised by other network admins regarding the security of this setup, leading to a pause in our practices. I'm interested to know whether organizations still consider VPN a safe option for remote workers.

I've heard that IKEv2 is now regarded as a more secure alternative to SSL VPN. It's crucial to continue using multi-factor authentication, and if you can, integrate SAML for Azure services to enforce stricter access conditions. Also, have you looked into SSE/SASE? It's gaining popularity, though it can be pricey.
