Is it wise to buy RAM now or wait for Black Friday?

I'm planning to build a system with a 9600x CPU and a 9060xt GPU in December. Initially, I wanted to go for a 2x16GB set of 6000 CL30 RAM like most people, but RAM prices have changed and it's throwing off my budget. Should I just grab the CL36 RAM now and wait for Black Friday to buy the rest of the components? I'm based in Germany and I've found some links: CL36 Corsair for purchase, and a CL30 Patriot kit which was recently priced at €185, but just a few days ago it was €145.

You might want to look for higher frequency RAM at competitive prices. Just check the primary timings too; for instance, if you find a 7000 MHz RAM with CL34 but with timings of 34-48-48, that might not be the best. A 6400 CL32-38-38 could work if you can snag it for a bit cheaper. You could also aim for something like a 6000 kit with 30-38-38 timings, which should be manageable too!

Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for.

I just spotted a deal on eBay for a CL32 quad kit. It's from a reputable company in Berlin, but I don't need all that RAM. Do you think I should buy it and possibly sell the extras? I'm just starting to learn about speeds and CAS Latency.

It's tough to say for sure since prices can be unpredictable, sort of like the stock market. The difference in quality between CL30 and CL36 could be significant for RAM, but it might not matter that much overall. A CL30 kit used to be the better option when prices were closer, but if you find a lower-priced 5600 with reasonable timings, that could also be worth considering. Just make sure to keep an eye on the quality—less reputable chips might creep in.

If you can find a solid deal today, it might make sense to buy the RAM now. Black Friday can be a gamble—prices can go down but also go back up. If your budget allows it, buying the RAM that fits your needs now might save you some regret. Just make sure you get RAM that's good quality for what you want to do.
