Which Drive Should I Use for My Files?

I recently had my laptop repaired, and instead of using the internal hard drive, I was given an external hard drive with a USB connection for my files. I'm a bit confused about how to manage this. I see drives labeled D, E, and F on my computer when I plug the USB in. Can someone help me understand which drive I should be using for my files? Are any of the drives usable for my data?

If your internal hard drive is labeled C:, then the drives D, E, and F are likely your USB drive. To confirm, unplug the USB drive and see which drive letter disappears, then plug it back in to see which one comes back. That's your USB drive! You can use it for your files without worrying about the other drives.

Thanks for the help! I was confused because D, E, and F pop up when the USB is connected. I noticed that the repair person put all my old files in D. Are E and F usable too?
