I accidentally spilled a few drops of water on my laptop's power button, and now it won't turn on. I tried using a hair dryer on it for about 5-10 minutes and also dried any holes I could find. Now I'm not sure what to do next. Any advice?

First off, it's best to take the laptop apart and check the circuit board near the power button. Look for any visible shorts that might have happened. If you feel comfortable, you might consider replacing that part, but be careful with the screws—don't force them if you don’t have the right tools!

I understand the struggle! I don’t have a screwdriver available either. Should I just keep using the hair dryer or let it dry a bit more?

Just a heads up, water can be really harmful to electronics unless it's distilled. If your laptop got wet, it’s crucial to avoid turning it back on before cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol, since it's non-conductive. I hope it all works out for you, but be cautious if you do try to power it back on after drying.

I really wouldn't recommend using a hair dryer. It can cause more damage to the internal components. Just let it dry naturally, and if you have a dehumidifier around, put it near that for better results.

Yeah, I saw mixed advice online about the hair dryer. I think I'll just leave it dry for a day and hope for the best. Thanks for the tips!
