What are the most affordable cloud options for learning Kubernetes?

I've been experimenting with Minikube and Kind on my laptop, but it's not handling the workload very well since it's kind of slow. As a newcomer to Kubernetes, I'm eager to learn the ropes, particularly in a cloud environment. I've come across GKE, AWS Kubernetes, and Vultr, but they all involve costs. Are there any budget-friendly or even free options available in the cloud that I can use to get started? Even if they have limited features, I'd appreciate any leads!

You should definitely check out the Oracle Cloud free tier. They provide free Kubernetes clusters and you don't even need a credit card to sign up. It's a solid starting point for learning without having to spend any money. Just keep in mind that the performance won't be top-notch, but it's good enough for practice!

While I know you're focusing on cloud solutions, keep an eye out for budget PCs or laptops. With older Intel 7th generation CPUs now often unsupported, you might find some great deals on used or refurbished devices. Alternatively, mini PCs could also be a budget-friendly way to set up a local Kubernetes environment.

You can also make the most of the free credits offered by major cloud services when you create accounts. For instance, Google Cloud Platform gives you $300 in credits for three months, while AWS offers $100 for six months, and Azure provides $200 for one month. These can be used on services like GKE, EKS, and AKS, which might help you try out different environments.
