I've noticed that the 5070 is often recommended for its versatility, but I'm considering the RTX 5060 Ti instead for a few reasons. First, the 5060 Ti offers 16GB of VRAM compared to the 5070's 12GB, which might be useful later on. Second, I could potentially get a higher quality card with the money I save by not going for the 5070. And finally, I only plan to game at 1080p for the foreseeable future—no interest in upgrading to 1440p or 4K anytime soon. Given this context, do you think I should just go for the 5070 or stick with the cheaper 5060 Ti?

For 1080p, I’d lean towards the 5060 Ti. It has 16GB of VRAM, which is more future-proof than the 12GB of the 5070, plus it's usually cheaper. If you’re not planning on upgrading to 1440p, the 5060 Ti will serve you just fine.
