So, a friend of mine accidentally spilled some lube on his PC. He left a closed bottle on top, but some of it dripped through the grille and got onto parts like the GPU. Surprisingly, the PC is still running fine after days, but there are visible puddles of lube on some components. It's water-based lube, and he's looking for the best way to clean it up. Any advice would be appreciated!

Your friend needs to be careful and clean that up properly. He should also check if any other fluids leaked out besides the lube. Better safe than sorry!
Using 91% or higher rubbing alcohol with some clean rags or paper towels is a great way to clean it up. Rubbing alcohol evaporates quickly and is safe for electronics, just be sure to let it dry for at least 10 minutes afterwards. And definitely a pro tip: storing personal items like lube on top of electronics isn't the best idea!
This seems like a sketchy situation, but if it's just a little mess, he should be fine! Just remember, it’s good to keep anything personal off the PC in the future. Also, joke’s on you for the imaginary friend comment!

What if my friend only has 70% isopropyl alcohol? Is that still okay to use?
