Help! Some devices can’t connect to WiFi while others can – What’s going on?

I'm in a bit of a bind here and could really use some help. For the past six months, I've been using Nord VPN on my laptop and both my iPhone and my wife's iPhone. However, three days ago, those devices stopped connecting to the internet through WiFi. My cellular data works fine on my phones, and I can use my laptop's hotspot without issues, but not through the WiFi. Interestingly, my Xbox, my Steam Deck, and my wife's Steam Deck are connecting just fine to the same WiFi network, and they've never used Nord. I've already uninstalled Nord from all the affected devices and reset the network settings, but I'm still without internet access. I spent over three hours on tech support with Nord, and they basically said it's not their fault. I've also reset my router multiple times. To complicate matters, I live in Japan and my Japanese isn't great, so reaching out to my ISP is going to be challenging. I don't need the VPN to work, I just need internet access for my job so I don't lose my job. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me out?

Have you tried running a speed test with Ookla or a similar service? I know you said your problematic devices won’t load anything, but maybe try from another device to see if the connection is really that bad.

Unfortunately, I can't even load those test sites on the devices that aren't working, but I can still stream Netflix and download games on the other devices just fine.

Make sure to reset your router again. It sounds like your devices are getting IP addresses but might be lacking DNS from DHCP, which can cause connectivity issues.

If you have to contact your ISP, it might help to tell them you're having DNS issues. You could mention that other devices are working fine, but some aren't connecting to the internet. That should give them a good starting point.

It sounds like you might have an IP conflict going on here. Double-check that all affected devices are getting different IP addresses. Sometimes that can really mess things up!

Just to confirm, they do all have different IP addresses.
