Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my gaming setup and need some advice on choosing a GPU. Here are my current specs: an AMD RX 5700 XT, Ryzen 5 3600, MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200, and a Super Flower 650W PSU. I usually game at 1440p on a 165Hz monitor. I mostly play Apex Legends online, where I've noticed a drop in FPS recently with the new season. For offline gaming, I enjoy AAA RPGs like Dragon Age Veilguard, Mass Effect 4, and GTA VI, and I'd prefer to run these at Ultra or High settings.
I'm considering upgrading to an AMD 9600X, a new AM5 motherboard, and DDR5 RAM down the line, but I might upgrade the GPU first. I'm okay with having some bottlenecks as I won't be upgrading everything at once. I have never used ray tracing or similar technologies before, so I don't have any comparisons to make. Also, I've had numerous issues with AMD's software in the past, while Nvidia has been smooth for me. I've heard AMD's software has improved recently, so any insights on that would be appreciated.
Here are my GPU options, priced locally:
1. RTX 5070 (R12,200 / $715 / £550)
2. RX 9070 (R12,800 / $750 / £570)
3. RX 9070 XT (R14,500 / $850 / £650)
4. RTX 5070 Ti (R17,500 / $1,025 / £780)
Which card do you think I should go for? And will I need to upgrade my PSU to support the new GPU? Looking forward to your thoughts! Thanks! 🙂

Definitely go for the 9070 XT! You're getting way more value with that extra VRAM which will help as games ramp up in their requirements. However, I’d be cautious about the PSU. You might want to check if your current 650W can handle the new GPU, especially if you plan on overclocking or adding more components later.
Have you checked if AMD’s software has improved? I used to have a ton of issues myself. It might be worth it to look into recent user experiences—things could be better than before!
I’d say the RX 9070 XT is your best bet. It's got 23% better performance than the standard 9070 and 16GB of VRAM, which should keep it relevant for longer. It’s comparable to the RTX 5070 when it comes to ray tracing, but Nvidia does have a bit of an edge in AI features if that matters to you. The price difference between the 9070 and 9070 XT is worth it, so I’d go for the better card. Just a heads up, the RTX 5070 Ti seems overpriced for the minimal gains it offers.
