Hey everyone! I'm a first-time poster but have been lurking around for a while. I'm looking to transition from Xbox to a PC and, to be honest, I don't know much about building PCs. I'm mostly playing Call of Duty and other shooters and want to maximize my performance while keeping costs low. So far, I've settled on an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor paired with an MSI MPG X870E Edge TI WiFi Motherboard, and I'm considering getting an RTX 4070 Ti. I need help with selecting a power supply, cooling solutions, and anything else I'm missing. My goal is to achieve high frame rates for as long as possible without needing frequent upgrades. Thanks in advance for your help!

Why are you considering the 4070 Ti? If you're looking to save some cash, you might want to rethink that motherboard choice as well. There are budget-friendly options that could work just as well.
The Ryzen 7 9700X is an excellent choice! You could save some money by opting for a less expensive motherboard that features a lower chipset. Make sure to use PC parts picker; it'll help identify any compatibility issues. Also, you'll want at least 2-4TB of storage space and about 32-64GB of RAM. Thermaltake offers great cooling solutions and their products are fairly priced. Don’t forget to check the power supply tier list to ensure you choose a solid PSU. Also, you might want to consider the new budget-friendly X3D chip—like the 7600X3D—as it can help with maintaining frame rates. And for a cleaner installation, consider an 'unattended' Windows installation to avoid bloatware with Windows 11!

Honestly, I'm not super informed about all this. I've been researching through various forums and using ChatGPT for advice. I want a solid build under $1,500 that'll last me for years without needing upgrades. I switched out the processor and motherboard based on recommendations I found. I'm aiming for maximum frames—like 300! Now I'm looking at a MONTECH Century II 850W Power Supply, a Thermalright Royal Knight CPU cooler, and a 2TB WD Blue NVMe SSD, but I still haven't picked a case.
