Need Help Choosing Between Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 CPUs for Gaming

I'm building a gaming rig with a 4070 Ti and an AM5 motherboard, and I'm looking for advice on which CPU to choose. I have some components lined up already: I found a refurbished AM5 motherboard for $98, a used DDR5 32GB kit for $115, and a Vetroo 1000W PSU for $70. I'm still deciding on a case, either the Cooler Master Masterbox Q300L or a used Lian Li Q58.

Now, I'm down to the CPU options: the Ryzen 5 7600X3D for $250, which is cheaper and offers great gaming value with 6 cores and 3D V-Cache, or the Ryzen 7 7800X3D for $330, which is pricier but touted as the best gaming CPU overall with 8 cores and 3D V-Cache, providing better longevity. My goal is a system that focuses on gaming performance without much bottlenecking and has some future-proofing.

If you're on a budget, I suggest going for the Ryzen 7600X3D. It performs almost the same as the 7800X3D in gaming, plus you can always upgrade later if you need more power without breaking the bank now.

Do you think waiting to buy a better CPU later would cost roughly the same, around $80 more? Maybe it's better to invest in the higher one now for peace of mind.

I'd be cautious with using 4 sticks of memory. A lot of users have reported speed issues when running 4 sticks on AM5 setups. It might be better to use just 2 sticks if you want to avoid potential problems down the road.

Thanks for flagging this, I didn't think of that!
