Is the 9060XT a good choice for a gaming PC coming from a console?

I'm transitioning from playing on an Xbox Series X to building my first gaming PC, and I'm curious about whether the 9060XT will meet my needs. I want a setup that lasts at least five years. My gaming habits are casual, including titles like Minecraft, Rocket League, and GTA. I do want to enjoy smoother gameplay without stuttering, aiming for 1440p resolution and over 60fps, though I'm not looking for 4k. I've been watching comparison videos but struggle to see significant differences between the 9060XT and the 5070. I want to make sure I won't be outdated in a couple of years. Any advice would really help!

When comparing GPUs on YouTube, the differences can be tough to spot because of how the videos are made. If you're looking at the 9060XT, it's a solid choice if you’re aiming for 60fps or more. Just keep in mind that FPS can change based on game movement, so a higher FPS in fast-paced moments can enhance your experience. For 1440p gaming, you might want to consider something like the RX 9070 if your budget allows it, but the 9060XT should serve you well for casual gaming.

What kind of graphics settings do you think are manageable with the 9060XT?

Yeah, would using the 5070 be overkill if I'm just playing casually?

If you’re fine with gameplay over 60fps, the 9060XT is definitely suitable. Just remember that YouTube videos can trick you since many are shown at 60fps. Look for the FPS counter in the videos instead. Also, ensure your monitor can handle more than 60fps to really appreciate what you’re getting. This way, you’ll see what the GPU is truly capable of without being limited by what you're watching.

Great point! I’ll make sure to check the FPS counter next time.

Thanks for pointing that out! I never realized how much that affects what I see.
