I'm having a frustrating issue with my Windows 11 laptop. I was in the middle of installing The Sims 4 when I unplugged it from the charger, and suddenly my Wi-Fi disappeared. Now, it doesn't show up in the settings or control panel at all. I've tried running various command prompts, including 'chkdsk' and 'sfc /scannow', but nothing has worked. The WLAN Autoconfig service is enabled and running, and the device manager shows that the drivers are fine. However, when I run the 'netsh int ip reset' command, it says 'resetting failed, access denied' even though I'm using cmd as an admin. I even went back to a restore point from before the problem began, but it still persists. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any solutions?

Check if there's a physical Wi-Fi switch on your laptop or a function (Fn) key that controls the Wi-Fi radio. Sometimes it's easy to hit that by accident! Look for any icons on your keyboard that might indicate Wi-Fi controls.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad E550 too! I pressed the button that looks like an antenna, but it didn't seem to help. Is there anything else I could try?
