I recently bought a house and I'm moving in soon, but I have a bit of a dilemma regarding my internet setup. The internet cable is located on the 2nd floor and the previous owner had the modem up there. However, I need to get connectivity for my PC, which will be in the living room next to the TV. Unfortunately, I can't run a cable down from the 2nd floor because of the stair layout and the need to pull it through multiple rooms, plus I want to avoid having cables running all over the place. In the long term, I plan to install new sockets, including an RJ45 connector, but I'm currently not in a position to do that due to recent job loss. My motherboard doesn't have built-in WiFi (it's an ASUS TUF Gaming B650 Plus) and my router is a TP Link Archer AX10. I'm exploring short-term solutions and considering two options: 1) a USB WiFi adapter (looking for recommendations for a good one since I need a stable connection for gaming) or 2) a powerline adapter, although I'm concerned about circuit compatibility and its higher cost. I'm also open to other alternatives I might not be aware of. Any suggestions?

Have you thought about using a PCIe WiFi card? They tend to provide more stable connections compared to USB adapters, especially for gaming. You’ll just need to make sure it fits alongside your graphics card (like a 4070 Ti Super). Let me know if you want specific recommendations!

That's definitely an option! If you're looking for a good one, I saw the TP-Link Archer TX55E might be a good fit.
