Hey everyone! I'm having a frustrating issue after upgrading my graphics card from a GTX 1650 to an RTX 4060. My setup includes an ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming II motherboard and a Ryzen 7 3800X. While I see good FPS in more demanding games, I'm experiencing performance drops in titles like CS2 and LoL. A friend mentioned it could be due to my motherboard, but I'm thinking it might be the CPU holding me back. I'm considering upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5800X or switching to an MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus motherboard. Any advice on what might be the root cause and whether these upgrades are a good idea?

Honestly, it sounds like the CPU might be bottlenecking your performance. Before upgrading anything, you should check if your motherboard supports resizable bar as that's essential for modern GPUs. If it doesn't, you might want to consider upgrading your motherboard first. A little research can go a long way here, so take your time to learn more about compatibility.
Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date! Overclocking in the BIOS could also give you a performance boost. If those don't work, upgrading your CPU might be your best bet.
Have you checked if you're using the same in-game settings as before? Sometimes changes in settings can affect performance. Also, try using DDU to uninstall and reinstall your Nvidia drivers; it might help fix some issues.
I've tried various settings, but I'll definitely give DDU a shot. Thanks for the suggestion!
I'd recommend going back to your old GPU until you get more familiar with what your build needs. Upgrading can be tricky if you're not sure how everything works together.

Appreciate it! If I do need to change CPUs, how good is the Ryzen 7 5800X?
