Hey everyone! I'm really excited about the idea of building my own PC for the upcoming holiday season, but I'm completely lost on where to begin. I'd like to create a setup that can handle modern games like Cyberpunk pretty well and is also VR-capable. I'm looking forward to the Steam Frame release, but I want to get started on the PC build first. Any tips on how to kick things off?

I've found that reading up on parts and seeing what works best for the software you want to use is super helpful. I spent a few weeks just researching, creating different build lists on PC Part Picker, and figuring out what I needed. It was actually really fun!
The first thing I'd suggest is to set a budget. Do you have a certain amount in mind? Remember, your budget will impact the kind of performance you can expect in games. If you're aiming for something like $1,000, that's a solid starting point.
You might find some good info from helpful videos. I recently watched one that explains picking your parts and why it matters. There’s a YouTube video that really breaks it down well, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out. Also, using websites like PC Part Picker can help you choose compatible components.

I'm thinking $1,000 might be stretching it a bit for my first build, but I'm okay with getting parts gradually. I want to have the PC ready for when the Steam Frame comes out.
