Should I Replace My CPU Cooler Fan or Get a New Cooler?

My Deepcool AK400 cooler's fan has been making a loud noise when it's attached to the heatsink or case, but there's no noise when it's not attached. The warranty is over, so I'm wondering if it can be fixed. Since I still have the AK400 heatsink, would it be better to just buy a good case fan, or would that impact performance compared to a dedicated cooler fan? If replacing the fan is a viable option, which fan would be better for this purpose: the Deepcool FD12 or the NZXT F120P?

There are definitely case fans that can push air well, so it’s worth looking into those. Any decent case fan will be better than a broken one, especially since it's a standard size. Some aftermarket fans are really powerful too!

Thanks! How should I go about finding the right fan for good performance?

If you want top quality, consider the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2. If that’s out of your reach, the NF-P12 redux-1700 PWM is another solid choice. But remember, the prices can vary by location.

Those options aren't available in my country. I've looked around and found just the Deepcool FD12 and NZXT F120P as viable options. The price gap between replacing the fans and getting a new cooler isn’t too big either.

Are you sure the fan is mounted correctly? Sometimes, noise can come from something obstructing the blades or if it's not secured properly to the heatsink. It's worth checking to see if it's installed neatly to rule that out.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve checked multiple times and it's still noisy when attached. I have an Arctic F12 fan as a case fan that runs quietly, but the AK400 fan moves significantly more air, so I’m debating on whether a case fan would perform similarly.
