Hey everyone! I'm building my first PC from scratch and I'm a bit torn between which processor to buy. I'm considering the Ryzen 7 5700G since I don't have a dedicated graphics card yet, but I've also read a lot about the Ryzen 5 5600X and plan to get an RX 6600XT later on. My motherboard is an Asrock B550m Pro Se. I've read varied opinions online, and it's honestly getting a little confusing. I'd really appreciate any advice you can give me! Thanks! ❤️

Just a heads-up, only the 'G' variants in the Ryzen 5000 series come with integrated graphics, so if you pick the 5600 or 5600X, you won't be able to use it until you have a dedicated GPU. If you're okay with waiting for a GPU, the 5600X is a solid choice, but if you want something that works right away, the 5700G is the way to go.
If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, you might want to consider going for the Ryzen 5 5500 instead of the 5600X, especially since it’ll save you some money. Here’s a rough setup suggestion:
- RX 6600 for around $200
- Ryzen 5 5500 at about $80
- A B450M or A520M motherboard for around $60
- 16GB of 3200MHz RAM for about $25.
Just keep an eye on the compatibility with your current motherboard though!
Where did you find those prices? They're quite different from what I'm seeing in my country. Thanks!
That's actually what I was trying to clarify—whether I should wait for the 5600X or just go for the 5700G straight away.
