I've built my PC about 8 years ago, and two years back, I faced a similar problem where it would boot up, but the display was black. That time, it turned out a RAM card had failed, and replacing it resolved the issue. Now, I'm experiencing the same symptom again, but this time I've tested the RAM individually and even tried my old, functional RAM, yet the display still doesn't work. I connected my HDMI cable to the motherboard instead of the GPU, and it displayed fine, which makes me suspect the GPU. Notably, there's a flashing orange light on the GPU. So far, I've tried removing and reseating the RAM in various configurations and repositioning the GPU in different PCIe slots. My build includes:
- GPU: ASUS ROG GTX 1080 TI
- CPU: Intel Core i7
- Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB (2x16)
- PSU: Corsair RM750i
Does anyone have additional troubleshooting tips or any insights on what might be causing this? Is my GPU possibly dead?

You could try using the NVIDIA software to check if your GPU is still functioning. And since you've already reseated the GPU multiple times, ensure you're using the right HDMI port—that is, the one on the GPU, not the motherboard. Sometimes drivers can cause issues too, so make sure you have the most stable or recommended driver version installed. Good luck!
If you're seeing a flashing orange light on the GPU, that could indicate a power issue or that it's simply not working right. You might want to check if all power connectors are plugged in correctly. Also, testing the GPU in another computer, if possible, might help to confirm if it's actually faulty.

Thanks! I tried reseating the GPU again and ran into issues with the HDMI. The display won't activate when it’s plugged into the GPU itself.
