I recently got a new ASUS laptop and installed Norton for security. Norton did a quick scan and claimed that my PC is protected, but also pointed out a number of junk files that were slowing down my system. I removed those for free, which did help a little, but it's still running slower than I'd like. I've read about issues like outdated drivers and trackers on websites that might affect performance, and I'm seeing suggestions to add features that require a subscription. Is this really necessary? I've already disabled a few startup features and uninstalled McAfee that came pre-installed, so I'm quite frustrated because I expected better performance from a new laptop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You should really consider uninstalling Norton. Just use Microsoft Defender instead—it's free and effective. Only install updates directly from Microsoft and get your drivers from the ASUS website. Keeping it simple will help with performance. Trust me, those extra subscriptions often don’t deliver what they promise.

Really? So I gotta cancel my subscription now? Thanks for the advice, though. I'm just feeling frustrated—I just want this laptop to work properly!
