What Kind of SSD Do I Need for My Laptop Upgrade?

I'm looking to upgrade my laptop's storage because my current SSD is too small. I have an MSI Thin GF63 12UC, and I want to replace it with a 2TB SSD, specifically the Samsung 990 EVO Plus. However, I've never replaced a laptop component before, and I want to make sure I don't buy something incompatible. Could anyone advise on the SSD specifications needed for my laptop?

Your laptop can support an NVMe SSD, specifically one that fits the 2280 size, which the 990 EVO Plus does. It also has a 2.5" SATA slot for an additional SSD if you're considering that. If you're unsure about the existing drive, you can check Task Manager to find out.

Are you referring to the current drive model? It's a Micron 2400 NVMe M.2 Non-SED.
