I'm having some trouble with a USB-C fiber optic cable that I've run through the wall. Initially, it worked fine with a mouse, but now I'm finding that while the LEDs on the USB hub are lit and I can see "Generic High-Speed USB Hub" in Device Manager, other devices aren't functioning as they should. When I plug the hub directly into the PC, it shows the entry along with two other "Generic USB Hub" devices in Device Manager. The frustrating part is that I can't easily unplug the cable from the wall, and I don't want to spend money on a new one if it's not completely dead. I did discover that a USB 3 stick works fine, so it seems like the issue might be with USB 2 devices. The cable claims to be backwards compatible, so I'm a bit stumped. Here's a link to the cable I'm using: https://geohng.com/products/full-featured-fiber-optic-usb-c-cable?variant=45396883210378

Have you tried using a different cable between the USB hub and your PC? Sometimes the connections can be finicky. If that doesn’t work, it might be a compatibility issue with the devices you're trying to use that are USB 2. It's also worth checking if there's any bending or damage to the fiber cable, as that can affect performance too.
Could you clarify what you mean by 'in the wall'? Is it permanently installed? If so, you might want to consider checking the connection points for any loose wiring or interference. Also, pictures could help clarify the setup if that's an option for you.

With other cables it’s working fine, but since this one is already set up in the wall, swapping it out is a hassle. Just frustrating!
