Issues with Boot Loops After Installing a Dual NVMe Adapter on an Older Motherboard?

I've recently installed a Syba SI-PEX40129 dual NVMe adapter card that is supposed to work with non-bifurcation motherboards. However, my setup keeps boot looping. Specifically, the motherboard's LED indicators switch from 19 to 15, indicating north and south bridge initialization, leading to a reboot. I've tried a few things: testing both the 8x and 16x PCIe slots, resetting the BIOS to defaults, locking the PCIe generation to Gen3 instead of Auto, and even providing SATA power to the motherboard as the card suggests for dual graphics setups. Notably, the Syba card does not have any NVMe drives installed—could that be a factor? Here are my system specs:

- **Motherboard:** Gigabyte Z87x-UD5H
- **CPU:** Intel 4770k (not overclocked)
- **Memory:** 24GB (2x 8GB & 2x 4GB)

It sounds like the issue might stem from compatibility problems between your motherboard and the PCIe switch chip on the NVMe adapter. Don't worry about the card being empty; it shouldn't affect booting. If your system is boot looping, it likely indicates that the components just aren't playing nice together.

Thanks for the insight! I'm still having issues, but I'm curious—where can I find more information about the compatibility between Z87 boards and the ASM2824 chip?
