I'm trying to decide between the 7500F and the 9600X for 2K gaming. Is the performance increase with the 9600X worth the extra cost? Looking for insights based on experience or comparisons.

I’d say the 9600X is worth it if the price difference is around $20-$40. You’ll also get an integrated GPU which can come in handy later on.
Definitely get the 9600X, especially if you can tune your RAM and overclock it. The performance in 2K and even 4K is generally better compared to the 7500F, given the right settings.
For 2K gaming, the performance difference between the 7500F and the 9600X isn't going to be very noticeable, so the 7500F could save you some cash if that's a priority.
Consider the prices in your area before making a choice. There's also a solid comparison video out there that might help you see the differences better.
If you're focusing on gaming, the general consensus is to go with the cheaper CPU and invest the saved money into a better graphics card, like the RX 9070XT 16GB. If you're able to save more, the RX 9070 is also a good option with more VRAM than the 5070.
