I just got a 5070 Ti Shadow 3X, but I'm really concerned about my power supply unit (PSU). I have a Montech White Certified AP 750W that I thought was decent when I bought it about a year ago. However, I recently checked a PSU tier list and saw that it's not highly rated. Should I hold off on using my new GPU until I upgrade to a better PSU with a higher rating, or is my current setup safe?

The E rating isn't great, and honestly, I'd be cautious. It might have worked fine so far, but considering the cost of the GPU, it's worth ensuring your setup is reliable. Have you checked how much power your entire system draws? If your estimated wattage is around 600W, then you have some headroom, but just be careful. Personally, I'd rather have peace of mind and get a better PSU before pushing the GPU.
Understand that the 80+ ratings are about efficiency at various loads. They ensure that your PSU can convert power effectively, especially under high loads. Since your PSU is on the lower end, I'd suggest you calculate the power requirements of your whole system to be safe. If you're only using around 600W, you might be okay, but those power spikes from the GPU can be risky with a lower-rated PSU. Better to have some leeway than to end up damaging your setup.
Exactly! If you find that you're near the 750W limit during spikes, it's better to either invest in a higher rated PSU or avoid pushing your components too hard. An upgrade would definitely give you better reliability in the long run!

That's true! Better safe than sorry, especially with expensive components. If you're planning to upgrade, an 850W Gold Certified PSU sounds like a solid choice.
