I'm considering getting a UPS for my gaming setup, but right now I can't afford one. Can I just use a surge protector for a few months to shield my PC from unexpected power surges and outages? I'm mostly into gaming and don't worry about saving my work; I just want to make sure my hardware (Ryzen 7600 + 4070 Ti Super) stays safe. I'm looking at the APC Electric Essential SurgeArrest 1 but I'm getting mixed feedback online. Can someone help me out? Thanks!

I think using a surge protector is smart, especially since it acts like a safety net for your PC. Just make sure it’s connected to a grounded outlet, though!
If you're mainly focused on protecting your hardware, a surge protector should do just fine. They're a great low-cost way to shield against electrical spikes.
Unfortunately, all the outlets where I live don't have ground. Is there a workaround?
