I recently bought a Moto G Stylus 5G 2025 and a 1TB SanDisk micro SD card. To transfer files from my old phone's SD card, I got an Amazon Basics micro SD card reader. However, while copying files to the new SD card, my phone keeps rebooting unexpectedly. This happens with almost every batch of files I try, and even when I create a new folder, it crashes and restarts. I formatted the SD card thinking that might solve it, but the issue persists. Can anyone explain why this might be happening and if this could potentially damage the files on the old SD card during transfer?

It's unlikely that the interruption will damage your old SD card permanently, but it may cause some files to get corrupted. If you can, try using a computer for the transfer, as that tends to be more stable. If that's not an option, keep trying smaller batches or different file types to see if there's a specific file causing the issues.
That sounds super frustrating! It's possible that your phone isn't handling the file transfers well due to compatibility issues with the SD card or the reader. Have you checked if your device is updated to the latest software? Sometimes, issues like these can be fixed with a simple update. Also, using a different card reader could help, as some devices can be picky about accessories.
Yeah, and make sure the SD card itself is compatible with your phone. Sometimes, using a lower capacity card might work better for transferring files.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll try transferring smaller batches and see how that works.
