I'm finally making the switch to Linux on my old Windows tablet after using it on my PC for more than two years. I'm set on using Fedora, but I'm unsure which desktop environment (DE) would work best for touch functionality. Should I go for mobile-focused options like Phosh or KDE Mobile, or stick to traditional desktop environments like Cinnamon or GNOME?

I’ve been experimenting with both KDE and KDE Mobile. For tablet mode, I usually log out and switch to the mobile session for a better touch experience. Just a heads-up though, while KDE Mobile is okay, I found it to crash a bit too often, which is why I switched back to a more stable environment. Definitely give Phosh a try; it might be more reliable.
If you want a smooth experience, I'd definitely recommend opting for a mobile-first desktop environment. I've tried using the standard DEs on tablets, and trust me, they can be a bit clunky without a keyboard or mouse. I'd say give Phosh a shot first; it’s designed for touch. If that doesn’t suit your needs, GNOME has a more Android-like feel that'll also work well on a tablet.
