Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading my budget CPU from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D. I don't really understand spec sheets and would love your expert opinions. I know a Ryzen 7 5800X3D would be better, but it's too pricey for my budget right now. My Ryzen 5 is still working fine, which makes me hesitant to upgrade, unlike my old RX 590 that died and gave me a reason to buy new hardware. Are there any other options I should think about? Also, I have decent specs: X570 A PRO motherboard, ASUS RX 7600 graphics card, 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM, and a Cooler Master MWE 650 Bronze V2 power supply. Oh, and would it make sense to jump to 32GB of RAM, or is that excessive for my setup? Thanks!

Definitely saw better performance for gaming, especially in those 1% lows, when I upgraded to the 5700. Just keep an eye on the price, since I found mine for around $150-$200 during Black Friday last year.
Make sure to check prices! If you can grab the 5700X3D around 250€ new or about 200€ used, that's a decent deal. Also, remember that for gaming, 16GB of RAM is usually enough, so don’t stress too much about jumping to 32GB right away.
In my case, jumping to the 5700X3D was a huge upgrade from my 3600—I noticed a significant FPS increase. If you find one at a good price, I’d say go for it!
Upgrading to even a Ryzen 5 5600 or 5600X would give you a solid boost, thanks to the increased IPC from Zen 3. But if you're set on the 5700X3D, that's even better for gaming!
For sure, it all comes down to pricing. If you catch the 5700X3D at a good price, it’s a great upgrade!
I made the leap from the 3600 to the 5700X3D last November, and it was a total game changer for me. Everything feels much smoother now, and gaming performance skyrocketed! If you can swing it, definitely consider upgrading to 32GB of RAM too—especially if you multitask with stuff like multiple Chrome tabs and videos going.

I totally agree! With how apps are now, 32GB is becoming the norm just for general use!
